Butter for freshness

When you just need a half of the onion in your cooking, where will you store the rest of it? To make the onion still fresh, spread the cut area with butter and roll it in aluminium foil and put it in the fridge. That will stay fresh for a week and it can also prohibit the strong odor in your kitchen.

Thank you so much for that information. I can’t tell you how many times this has happened to me. I would wrap the onion in plastic wrap and foil, but I would still get a refrigerator flavored of onion. I will try this out next time. Thanks again:)

Finally, an end to wasted onions and/or smelly fridges. I’m very glad for this priceless bit of info.
