For a heavenly scent in your cake, you need a citrus-sugar. You can make your own by not buying anymore what is in the market. Grate citrus peeling and with same amount of sugar mix them together place in cover glass. Everytime you use sugar for baking try your own citrus-sugar.

Great tip. I often use lemon juice to add just that extra touch of flavoury freshness.
