Anything that has an LED (light emitting diode) that glows even after you turn it off continues to draw power (that you pay for). Your TV, cell phone charger, and printer are likely culprits. Unplug the offenders from wall sockets and plug them into power strips instead. When you leave a room, flip the strip switch to cut the flow of electricity.

That is a great tip. I followed your advice and found a number of electronic devices that I could completely turn off. Most of them were on a power strip so when not in use I turn off the power strip! Let’s see what my electricity bill is next month!

This is a great tip. LED’s don’t use that much electricity though, but this will save you a few dollars a year. I would also reccomend putting lights on timers and turning off your computers at night or when they are not in use.

Even though LED’s use very little electricity, I’m inclined to agree with you. It’s a good practice to have, and it can definitely save you some money. You can also get a power strip with a “control” port. You plug your TV or computer in to the control slot, and when you turn it off, like maybe right before you go to bed, it automatically shuts off the entire power strip. Great tool to have.
